From Sketch to Skin – A Look Inside How Fairyokai Jewelry Is Made

It Starts with an Idea

Every Fairyokai piece begins the same way: with a sketch. A curve, a texture, a shape inspired by nature — a leaf, a pebble, a ripple of water. These early drawings capture the feeling we want the piece to have: effortless, natural, and quietly beautiful.

From Paper to Wax

Once the design is finalized, it moves to the hands of our artisans. They begin by carving a wax model of the piece. This is where the design comes to life in three dimensions. Every curve, every texture, every detail is carefully shaped by hand.

The wax model is then used to create a mold. Molten metal is poured in, taking the exact shape of the wax. This is called the lost-wax casting process — a technique that has been used for thousands of years, and one that allows for incredible precision and detail.

The Art of Plating

Many Fairyokai pieces are finished with ion vacuum plating — a technology that creates a thick, durable coating that resists fading and wear. Unlike standard plating, which can be thin and prone to wear, our plating is tested to withstand 5,000 abrasion cycles. It's a difference you can feel.

Hand-Assembly and Polishing

After casting, each piece is carefully assembled by hand. Chains are linked. Stones are set. Clasps are attached. Every connection is checked for strength and security.

Then comes the polishing. Our artisans spend time on every piece, smoothing surfaces, enhancing shine, and bringing out the natural beauty of the materials. It's a slow, deliberate process — and that's exactly how it should be.

Quality Check

Before a piece leaves our workshop, it goes through a final inspection. We check the weight, the finish, the way it moves and sits. If something isn't right, it doesn't go out.

The Journey Continues

From sketch to skin, every Fairyokai piece carries the care of the hands that made it. It's not just jewelry. It's a small piece of craftsmanship, made to be worn and loved — every single day.
